The reading
Almost everything in a chart depends on the birth time. The ascendant changes sign roughly every two hours, the house cusps shift with it, and the navamsa (D-9) ascendant changes every few minutes — so an uncertain or rounded birth time quietly undermines house-based predictions, dasha onset, and divisional analysis. Birth Time Rectification (BTR) is the disciplined process of narrowing that uncertainty by working backwards from events you already know happened on known dates.
The method is event-driven, not guesswork. We take your major dated life events — marriage, the birth of children, decisive career changes, accidents or surgeries, the loss or major event of a parent — and test candidate birth times against them: a correct time must place the relevant dasha/antardasha and the major transits (and, where they apply, the Jaimini chara-dasha sign-periods) so that they actually triggered those events on the dates they occurred. Candidate windows that fail to reproduce your real history are discarded; the window that reproduces the most events with the least strain is the rectified time.
Honest as always: rectification yields a best-supported time with a stated confidence level, not a birth certificate. The more well-dated events you give us, the tighter the result. Where the events under-constrain the chart and several times remain plausible, we report the surviving candidates rather than pretending to false precision.

Starting from the approximate range you provide, we lay out the candidate ascendants (and where the range crosses a sign boundary, the competing lagnas) and the navamsa ascendants each implies — the field of possibilities we are about to test against your life.
Event-by-event narrowing
The core of the work: each major dated event you supply is run against the candidate times. For every event we show which dasha/antardasha and which transits (and Jaimini chara-dasha sign-period where relevant) would have to be active to produce it — marriage against the 7th-lord and Venus periods, children against 5th-lord and Jupiter cues, career turns against the 10th and its dasha, accidents/surgery against 6th/8th and malefic transits, parental events against the relevant houses. Candidate times that cannot reproduce your history are eliminated, and you see the eliminations reasoned out, not asserted.
The rectified time, with confidence level
The single best-supported birth time (or, where the data genuinely under-constrains it, the two or three surviving candidates), stated with an explicit confidence level — high, moderate, or provisional — based on how many events it reproduces and how cleanly.
Your corrected lagna and navamsa
What the rectified time actually changes: the corrected ascendant and its degree, the corrected navamsa (D-9) ascendant, the resulting shift in house placements and dasha onset dates, and a short note on how this changes the picture versus your previously assumed time.
Honest confidence caveat
A plain statement of the result's reliability: how tight the window is, which future events would confirm or further refine it, and what remains uncertain. Rectification is evidence-based estimation; we never present a probabilistic result as a certainty.

Frequently asked
- How many life events do I need to give you?
- More is better. Four to six clearly dated, life-defining events usually allow a confident result; two or three may only narrow it to a couple of candidates. Vague dates weaken the work, so be as precise as you honestly can.
- Can you rectify with no idea of my birth time at all?
- Often yes, but it's harder and the confidence is lower — we test across the whole day, which needs a richer event list to converge. If you also need a pressing question answered meanwhile, Prashna needs no birth time at all.
- Will the rectified time be exact to the minute?
- Rarely, and we won't pretend otherwise. We give the tightest honestly-supported window with a confidence level. The navamsa is sensitive enough that minute-level certainty usually isn't claimable — we tell you how tight it really is.
- What's not included?
- BTR produces a best-supported time with a confidence level, not a guaranteed exact time; quality scales directly with the number and accuracy of dated events you provide.
