Your Vedic birth chart — Lagna, the nine grahas, the Rasi chart, your Vimshottari dasha and the principal yogas — computed from a real sidereal (Lahiri) ephemeris engine. Enter your birth details below.

As exact as you can — the Lagna shifts roughly every two hours.

Frequently asked

What is a Janam Kundli?

A Janam Kundli (Vedic birth chart) is a diagram of the sky at the exact moment and place of birth — the rising sign (Lagna), the twelve houses, and the positions of the nine grahas (Sun, Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, Saturn, Rahu and Ketu) in the zodiac and houses.

What birth details do I need to generate an accurate Kundli?

Three things: exact date of birth, exact time of birth (ideally to the minute, since the Lagna changes roughly every two hours), and exact place of birth. Without accurate time, the Lagna and house cusps cannot be fixed reliably.

Which ayanamsa is used to build this chart?

Lahiri (Chitrapaksha) ayanamsa — the standard sidereal zodiac correction used by the Indian government calendar and by most contemporary Vedic-astrology software. Planetary longitudes are computed from Swiss Ephemeris and then corrected by Lahiri.

What is the difference between the Rasi chart and the Navamsa?

The Rasi (D1) chart is the principal birth chart — planets placed in their zodiacal signs and houses from the Lagna. The Navamsa (D9) is a harmonic ninth-division chart used especially for marriage, dharma and the strength of planets confirmed in the D1.

What is Vimshottari Dasha?

Vimshottari Dasha is the principal Vedic timing system — a 120-year cycle of planetary periods (Ketu 7, Venus 20, Sun 6, Moon 10, Mars 7, Rahu 18, Jupiter 16, Saturn 19, Mercury 17) whose starting point in the cycle is fixed by the Moon's nakshatra at birth.

What is the Lagna or Ascendant?

The Lagna (Ascendant) is the zodiacal sign rising on the eastern horizon at the moment of birth. It defines the first house and the framework from which all other house positions and many predictive techniques are read.

Is this Vedic (sidereal) or Western (tropical) astrology?

Vedic, sidereal. Planetary longitudes are corrected by the Lahiri ayanamsa so that signs are measured against the fixed stars, not the tropical equinox. This is why a Western Sun sign may differ from the Vedic Sun-sign result here.
