How these numbers are calculated
- Mulank: the day of birth (1–31) reduced to a single digit 1–9 by adding its digits (for example 24 becomes 2+4 = 6).
- Bhagyank: every digit of the full date of birth (day, month, year) added together and reduced to a single digit 1–9. We reduce fully — the dominant convention in Indian (Cheiro) numerology — so each number maps to one ruling planet; any master number (11/22) reached on the way is noted but not kept as the final value.
- Naam-ank: each letter of the name converted using the Chaldean table (A,I,J,Q,Y=1; B,K,R=2; C,G,L,S=3; D,M,T=4; E,H,N,X=5; U,V,W=6; O,Z=7; F,P=8 — 9 is never assigned), then summed and reduced. Spaces, digits and punctuation are ignored.

Should I change my name based on numerology?
Classical practice treats name change as a corrective measure only when there is a clear conflict between Naam-ank and Mulank or Bhagyank, and even then under the guidance of an experienced astrologer. The birth date numbers are fixed and far more important than name adjustments.
Why is the number 11 sometimes left unreduced?
In some modern systems 11, 22 and 33 are treated as master numbers and not reduced. The classical Chaldean and Indian tradition this tool follows reduces all multi-digit results to a single digit (1 through 9), since the underlying planetary mapping has only nine numbers.
