Free business astrology calculator. Your 10th house and its lord's condition, the 3rd, 7th and 11th houses, the Amatyakaraka and Karma Padam — with classical citations.
A calculator that shows the base facts a business-or-job reading is built on: your 10th house (the house of profession) with its lord's dignity and placement, the 3rd, 7th and 11th houses — initiative, the market, gains — the Amatyakaraka (the Jaimini significator of profession) and the Karma Padam (the arudha of the 10th). The Jaimini cards carry their classical citations; the 10th-house sign line is labelled as our own reading. What it deliberately does not do is tell you whether to start a business — four house lookups cannot honestly carry that verdict.
Classical reading does distinguish between a chart that supports independent enterprise and one that rewards service inside an organisation — but it does so by weighing the 10th house with the Dasamsa (D10), the 2nd, 6th, 8th and 12th (own capital, debt, other people's money, expense), the dhana yogas and the running dasha period together. This calculator gives you the structural starting facts. The verdict, with the reasoning shown and honest in both directions, is the written Business or Job reading.
The 10th house is the house of profession, standing and action in the world. Its sign colours the mode of work; its lord's dignity — exalted, own sign, friend, neutral, enemy, debilitated — and the house that lord sits in show where the profession's energy actually goes and how well it is supported. An unoccupied 10th is not empty of meaning; it is read through its lord.
In the Jaimini system the eight charakarakas rank the planets by how far each has travelled through its sign. The highest is the Atmakaraka (self); the second-highest is the Amatyakaraka (AmK) — the minister to that king, the significator of profession, counsel and career support. Its planet and placement are read for the kind of work that carries a person. It is not the same karaka as the Atmakaraka, though the names are one syllable apart.
The arudha pada of the 10th house. Arudhas are reflected positions — count from a house to its lord, then the same distance again — and the A10 shows how your work is perceived in the world, as distinct from what the 10th house itself contains. It is the Jaimini counterpart to the 10th-house read.
Because a business is not only a profession. The 3rd is self-effort, initiative and risk appetite — the courage to start; the 7th is dealing, negotiation, the market and the partnership axis — the founder's daily work of selling and building relationships; the 11th is gains, income and networks — the investor house. A founder read weighs all three alongside the 10th, and this calculator shows their sign, lord and occupants so you can see the structure it works from.
The positions are computed with Swiss Ephemeris using the Lahiri ayanamsa and whole-sign counting, from the birth time and place you enter — so the chart facts are as accurate as your birth time. What the page does not claim is an interpretation: it gives no verdict, score or guarantee about business success, funding or employment, because no honest free tool can. Two people with the same indications will differ in reality.
