What your report looks like
These are real sections from reports we have delivered — names and birth data redacted. Your report is written fresh from your own chart.

Drawn from the classical corpus
- बृहत्पाराशरहोराशास्त्रBrihat Parashara Hora Shastra — on grahas, bhavas & dashas
- फलदीपिकाPhaladeepika (Mantreswara) — on yogas & results
- सारावलीSaravali (Kalyana Varma) — on planetary effects
The reading
Gun Milan is the most-requested compatibility check in Jyotish, and also the most misused — a single 36-point number is treated as a verdict when it is really only the first of several layers. This report gives you the full Ashtakuta with all eight kutas broken out, then goes past the score: Mangal Dosha for both charts with every classical cancellation tested, the other dosha checks that matter, a house-line synastry showing where the two charts genuinely complement each other and where they strain, and a candid long-term assessment.
We read both charts as whole charts, not just their Moons. A high guna score with a serious unaddressed Mangal mismatch is not a green light, and a moderate score between two otherwise well-matched charts is often a far better prospect than the number suggests. We tell you which it is.
The tone is honest and non-coercive. We will not pad a score to please, and we will not weaponise a dosha to frighten. Where the charts are silent on a concern, we say so. The aim is a clear-eyed basis for a real decision, not a stamp of approval or a scare.
What you'll actually uncover
Read against the classics
- The eight kutas are scored against the classical Ashtakuta weighting — Bhakoot and Nadi carry the most points — so a high total resting on a weak Bhakoot or Nadi is shown for what it is, not flattered into a verdict. [Muhurta Chintamani]
- Bhakoot-dosha and Nadi-dosha are read with their classical remissions (shared rasi-lord, same nakshatra-pada and the like) applied — a dosha is reported as cancelled only where the texts actually cancel it, never asserted raw. [Muhurta Chintamani][Phaladeepika]
- Each partner's Mangal check is graded from Mars's dignity and house, then every parihara is tested before any net dosha is named — and where the score is mixed, the bhava-line synastry is weighed against it rather than the number being taken at face value. [Phaladeepika]
What's included
Full Ashtakuta — all 8 kutas, 36 gunas
A complete breakdown of every kuta with its points: Varna (1), Vashya (2), Tara/Dina (3), Yoni (4), Graha Maitri (5), Gana (6), Bhakuta (7) and Nadi (8). You see exactly where the points come from and where they are lost — including which kutas carry the heaviest weight (Bhakuta and Nadi) and why a score can be "high" yet sit on a weak foundation, or "moderate" yet be sound.
Mangal Dosha — both charts, all four cancellations
Mangal (Manglik) dosha checked from Lagna, Moon and Venus for each partner, then the classical cancellation rules applied: matching dosha in the partner's chart, Mars in its own/exaltation sign, benefic aspect/conjunction, age and house-specific exceptions, and the relevant Parashari/Phaladeepika nullifications. Most "Manglik" flags soften considerably once cancellations are tested, and we show the working.
Other classical dosha checks
Beyond Mangal: Nadi-dosha and its exceptions (same nakshatra-pada, same rasi-lord, etc.), Bhakuta-dosha and its remissions, Gana-dosha mitigation, and Rajju / Vedha / Stree-Dirgha checks from the southern tradition where relevant. Each is reported with whether it applies after exceptions, not just as a raw flag.
Bhava-line synastry — where the charts complement vs strain
Going past the kuta tables: how the two whole charts interact — overlay of one partner's grahas onto the other's houses, the 7th-house and Venus/Jupiter condition in each, Moon-sign and emotional temperament fit, and the practical areas (home, finances, family, communication, intimacy) where the pairing supports each other versus where friction is structurally likely.
Candid long-term assessment
A plain-language synthesis of everything above into a real-world view: the genuine strengths of the match, the points that will need conscious work, any hard contraindications, and — where applicable — proportionate, classically grounded remedies. If the verdict is favourable we say so; if it is mixed or unfavourable, we say that too, with reasons. If you need to settle on an auspicious wedding date after the report, see Muhurta Lookup.
Two follow-up questions
After you receive the report, you may ask two follow-up questions by message or email, and we will answer them to clarify anything in your reading.
At a glance
Best suited for
- Couples or families evaluating a prospective marriage match
- Anyone who has been quoted a "guna number" and wants to understand what it actually means
- People who have been told there is a Mangal-dosha problem and want it checked properly, including cancellations
- Those who want a synastry view that goes beyond the score into how two lives actually fit
- Partners wanting a candid long-term read before committing
How it works
- You place the order and complete the intake for both partners; we confirm both sets of birth data.
- We cast both charts, compute the full Ashtakuta, and test Mangal and the other doshas with all cancellations.
- We build the bhava-line synastry and write the long-term assessment, reviewed by hand against the texts.
- PDF delivered to your email within 24 hours.
What we'll ask you
- Where are you in this match?
- Has any dosha or concern already been flagged? (optional)
- Any specific concerns you want addressed? (optional)
- Whose birth time is less certain? (optional)
Frequently asked
- We only scored 18/36 — is the match doomed?
- Not necessarily. The score is one layer. A "low" number can sit on sound Bhakuta/Nadi and good chart synastry, while a "high" number can hide a real problem. The full report tells you which case you're in.
- One of us is Manglik — is that a dealbreaker?
- Usually not. We test every classical cancellation; a large share of Manglik flags are nullified once Mars's sign, aspects and the partner's chart are accounted for. We show exactly which cancellations apply.
- Can you read compatibility without exact birth times?
- Partially. Much of Gun Milan is Moon/nakshatra-based, but Lagna-based Mangal checks and synastry need the time. We flag what we can and cannot conclude if a time is uncertain.
- Does a high score guarantee a happy marriage?
- No — and that is one of the most important things this report communicates. A high aggregate can mask a critical Bhakuta or Nadi issue, and synastry can reveal structural strain the score does not show. A moderate score on a sound foundation is often the better match.
- What's not included?
- This is a compatibility analysis, not a directive to marry or not marry — the decision is yours; we provide the shastric basis.
- We do not provide a marriage muhurta in this report; for an auspicious wedding date, see Muhurta Lookup.
- We do not sell gemstones, yantras or remedial pujas.
- Conclusions depend on the accuracy of both birth times; uncertain times are flagged.
