This page is the honest version of the free chat: exactly what the free part includes, exactly what the paid part costs, and how to start. No trial that quietly converts, no fine print — the split is on this page.
Everything starts with the chart. When you enter your birth date, time and place, kundlit's own astro engine computes your Vedic birth chart with the Swiss Ephemeris on the sidereal zodiac (Lahiri ayanamsa) — the same engine behind the free kundli, dasha and panchang tools. This computation and the opening reading are free, and they do not require an account.
Once you create a free account, your first 2 questions are free as well — a lifetime allowance per account, enforced on the server, not a trial that quietly converts.
That is the entire free part. It is exactly this big, no larger: the chart and the opening reading, then 2 questions.
After the free questions, the same AI continues in the same conversation on the same computed chart. The paid part is billed per minute, at the rate shown on the page before any payment — the price you see is the price that runs.
You can use the free questions right now on the AI astrologer page. The current rate is shown there, and it is confirmed again before any payment.
The chat is answered by an AI system, and it says so: labeled AI in the chat, in the transcript, and on every purchase surface. It is never presented as a human astrologer. You can write your questions in Hindi, Hinglish or English; the answer comes back in the same language you wrote in.
Its readings describe tendencies indicated in your computed chart — not guarantees, and not medical, legal or financial advice. When an answer leans on a classical rule, it names the book it comes from, so you can see where a claim is grounded. And when a question needs human judgment, kundlit also offers a live astrologer chat as a separate tier.
A general-purpose chatbot has no ephemeris: it cannot compute where the planets were at your birth minute, and it may invent plausible-looking positions when asked. The AI astrologer never asks an AI for the chart — the chart is computed first, and the first message of the conversation quotes it back to you (your lagna, Moon nakshatra and current dasha) so you can check it against any panchang or jyotish software.
