Panchang — the five angas पञ्चाङ्ग

Tithi, Nakshatra, Yoga, Karana and Vara with their end-times, plus the month and the Moon’s and Sun’s signs — computed for this city’s sunrise. Times after midnight use the traditional extended clock (e.g. 27:23 = 03:23 next morning).

Tithi
Amavasyaअमावस्याtill 24:41
What this means

The lunar day. It is set by how far the Moon has pulled ahead of the Sun — each 12 degrees of separation is one tithi. The tithi shapes which activities the tradition favours, and it ends at the time shown, when the next one begins.

What this means

The lunar month. India uses two reckonings — Amanta (new-moon to new-moon) and Purnimanta (full-moon to full-moon) — so the name can differ by region. An 'Adhika' (extra) month is inserted to keep the lunar and solar years aligned.

Karkaकर्क

Sidereal (Lahiri) ephemeris; anga end-times computed to the city’s actual sunrise. “Adhika maas” marks an intercalary lunar month (no solar sankranti within it).

How we compute this panchang

Every time on this page is calculated from the actual positions of the Sun and Moon using the Swiss Ephemeris (the same high-precision astronomical engine used by professional astronomers), not from a printed almanac or a fixed table.

  • Sidereal zodiac, Lahiri ayanamsha — the standard used by the Indian government calendar. All nakshatra, rashi, tithi and yoga boundaries follow from it.
  • Local true sunrise — muhurta windows (Rahu Kaal, Choghadiya, Hora, Abhijit and the rest) are measured from the true sunrise computed for Raipur's exact coordinates, so they are correct for your location, not a regional approximation.
  • Two month conventions — we show both the Amanta (new-moon-to-new-moon) and Purnimanta (full-moon-to-full-moon) lunar month, because different regions of India follow different ones; an Adhika (intercalary) month is marked when it occurs.

Significance and auspicious/inauspicious flags are drawn from classical texts (Muhurta Chintamani, Brihat Samhita, the Puranas and others) and cited inline — we never assert an effect a text does not state.

Godhuli Muhurta - Raipur, 24 July 2025

On Thursday, 24 July 2025, the Vedic calendar throughout Raipur carries a day of particular rhythmic quality. The sun rises at 5:34 AM and dipping below the horizon at 6:44 PM, bringing 13 hours 10 minutes of daylight. The tithi is Amavasya of Krishna Paksha, and the nakshatra of the day is Punarvasu. Harshana yoga presides over the day, completing the core panchang signature for 2025-07-24. Brahma Muhurta opens at 3:58 AM and closes at 4:46 AM, anchored to today's local sunrise.

Throughout Raipur, Rahu Kala occupies the stretch from 1:48 PM through 3:27 PM — the period to avoid for new endeavours. Today's Disha Shool falls in the South direction — classical guidance advises against new Thursday journeys toward the South. On the auspicious side, the Shubh choghadiya (5:34 AM–7:13 AM) is the day's prime auspicious window. Punarvasu nakshatra is ruled by Jupiter, anchoring the vedic day in the particulars of Raipur.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Rahu Kaal in Raipur on 24 July 2025?

Why is sunrise in Raipur on 24 July 2025 at 5:34 AM?
Sunrise at 5:34 AM in Raipur on 24 July 2025 is determined by the city's geographic latitude (21.25°N) and the Earth's axial tilt on this date. The exact sunrise and sunset (6:44 PM) define the length of the Vedic day and anchor all panchang calculations — from Rahu Kaal to the choghadiya slots — to Raipur's local horizon.
Is 24 July 2025 Amavasya?
Yes, 24 July 2025 is Amavasya (new-moon day) in the Vedic calendar as observed from Raipur. The Amavasya tithi runs from 2:29 AM to 12:41 AM local time.
